Please note that the registrations for Google Code Jam for 2017 will open on March 7, 2017 but this advance notice is for you to get sufficient time to prepare for your applications.
Google Code Jam is a programming competition in which professional and student programmers are asked to solve complex algorithmic challenges in a limited amount of time. The contest is all-inclusive: Google Code Jam lets you compete in the programming language and development environment of your choice.
Who can participate:
- Anyone at & over the age of 13 is allowed to participate in the contest.
- The finals will take part on-site where the finalists will be required to travel. If you are not over 18, you will not be eligible to travel to the on-site finals.
The contest consists of two competition tracks: Code Jam and Distributed Code Jam. Code Jam has 5 rounds: a qualification round, Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, and a final round. You must qualify for Round 2 of Code Jam to qualify for Distributed Code Jam. Distributed Code Jam has 3 rounds: Round 1, Round 2, and a final round. The qualification round, Round 1, Round 2, and Round 3 of each track will be conducted online. The final round of each track will take place at the Google office in Dublin, Ireland, or such other location as Google may designate. Rounds are of different lengths, varying from 2 hours to 4 hours; except for the Qualification Round, which lasts 25 hours.
Prizes: 1st Place – $15,000, 2nd Place – $2,000, 3rd Place – $1,000, 4th to 26th Places – $100 for Code Jam and 1st Place – $10,000, 2nd Place – $2,000, 3rd Place – $1,000 for Distributed Code Jam.
