Mathematics Training and Talent Search Program (MTTS)

University of HyderabadThe Mathematics Training and Talent Search Program or MTTS is a summer training program in India for mathematics, started at the undergraduate level, aimed to expose bright young minds to mathematics and equip them better for PhD studies. It is funded by the National Board for Higher Mathematics, India.

The daily program consists of lectures in the morning (from 9.30 AM to 1.00 PM) and problem sessions in the afternoon (from 2.00 PM to 5.00 PM). Each level (I and II) has lectures in the four basic streams of Mathematics: Algebra, Analysis, Geometry and Topology. Students of Level O are offered courses in Basic Real Analysis, Linear Algebra, Geometry (curve tracing, sketching of surfaces, classification of quadric surfaces) and one of Discrete Probability, Combinatorics and Elementary Number theory.

Who can apply:

  • Level O: Second year (3rd/4th semester) undergraduate students with Mathematics as one of their subjects.
  • Level I: Final year (5th/6th) undergraduate students with Mathematics as one of their subjects.
  • Level II: First year (1st/2nd semester) postgraduate students with Mathematics as one of their subjects OR participants of the previous year Level I Program.
